Consentry is a cookie-consent app for Shopify stores. Privacy is the entire point of this product, so this policy is written to be read: it explains exactly what data the app touches, and — more importantly — what it deliberately does not.

Data we process about merchants (our customers)

• Store identification: your store's .myshopify.com domain and an API access token issued by Shopify when you install the app. These are required for the app to function and are stored in our application database.
• Subscription status: which plan (Free or Pro) your store is on, received from Shopify's billing system and stored as an app metafield on your store.
• Support communication: if you email us, we keep the correspondence.

We do not access your store's customers, orders, products, or any other merchant data. The app requests no data-access scopes beyond what Shopify grants every app by default.

Data we process about store visitors (your shoppers)

None on our servers. The consent banner runs entirely in the visitor's browser:

• Consent choices are recorded by Shopify's Customer Privacy API, which stores them in a first-party cookie (_tracking_consent) in the visitor's browser, managed by Shopify.
• If Shopify's privacy service is unreachable (for example, blocked by a browser extension), the choice is kept in the visitor's own browser storage (consentry_consent). It contains only the choice itself — no identifiers, and it never leaves the browser.
• The app signals the visitor's choice to Google tags on the page via Google Consent Mode v2. The app itself sends nothing to Google or to any other third party.

Consentry does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data of store visitors. It contains no analytics or tracking of its own — on storefronts or on this website.

Data retention and deletion

• Uninstalling the app removes its banner and all of its code from your store immediately.
• Stored merchant data (store domain, access token, plan) is deleted in response to Shopify's mandatory data-erasure webhooks, at the latest 30 days after uninstall.
• Visitor-side data (_tracking_consent cookie, browser storage) lives in the visitor's browser and expires or is cleared there; we never hold a copy.

Sharing

We do not sell or share any data with third parties. Our processors are limited to Shopify (platform and billing) and our hosting provider (application database).

Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of data we hold about you. Email luis.miguel.miguel5967@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above is updated and material changes are noted in the app's changelog.
